LocalAudio: privacy
LocalAudio collects no data. It has no accounts and no analytics, and it transmits nothing to anyone but the backup computers you add yourself, such as your own laptop.
- Everything you record, your playlists and your settings, and only audio you own and put on the watch yourself, are stored on your watch. By default none of it is part of any backup that watchOS makes; you can choose what to include under Settings, Device Backup, so that you do not lose what cannot be replaced, such as the last voicemail from a dearly departed loved one.
- LocalAudio connects only to backup computers you add yourself, to back up what you choose to send and to copy audio you own to the watch. It never contacts any other address.
- Passwords for those computers are kept in your watch's keychain, are sent only to the computer they belong to, and are never restored to another device.
Keeping and deleting
LocalAudio keeps what you record, your audio, your playlists and your settings on your watch until you delete them. Deleting an item or a folder in the app deletes it from the watch. Removing a backup computer deletes its saved password. Deleting the app deletes everything it holds on the watch; remove your backup computers first to delete their saved passwords as well.
